there are 6 main characters, who are continually trying to recapture the sense of harmony which they knew as children. the intensity of childhood, the optimism of youth and the disillusion of later years are portrayed through their thoughts. their perceptions and feelings move back and forth in the narrative like waves. this is not a conventional adaptation of a novel to film. its imagery is inspired by the form of the novel, and it takes us on a quest.
